“Picture your world: Explore the natural beauty of the Saginaw Bay
Watershed”
2010 Nature Photography Contest
Sponsored by Consumers Energy
Deadline:
September 30, 2010
Rules & Entry
Form
On
your mark…get set…grab your cameras! Submit your best nature photos for the 4th
Annual Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy Nature Photography Contest! Capture an
image that reflects living in the Saginaw Bay Watershed: a beautiful flower, a
hidden stream, a forest view, an encounter with one of the many animals or birds
that reside here, or people interacting with nature. We encourage you to take
photos at one of the SBLC nature preserves. Submit photos in any one of these
categories:
Landscapes:
Images depicting natural scenery: waterscapes, cloudscapes, sunrises/sunsets,
trees, wetlands, or other scenic views.
Plants & Flowers:
Images of any and all flora, wildflowers, trees, and general nature photos. We
encourage photos of native Michigan plants. If you need help identifying
Michigan native plants, the website
www.macd.org
may help.
Wildlife:
Striking images of wild creatures can be found on land and in water. Don’t
forget about all of the beautiful insects and, of course, our feathered friends.
(No pets or captive animals, please.)
Photo-art: Use
your creativity to digitally enhance your favorite nature photo. Photos will be
judged separately from other categories.
Student:
Submissions in the categories listed above by those 17 years or under will be
judged separately.
If your photo contains identifiable
people, please use this photo release
form.
Prizes
will be awarded for the top three photos in each category, based on
creativity,
subject matter, originality, relevance to the watershed, and overall “wow.”
$50 for first
place, $25 for second place,
$10 for third place
