About Bay City Rowing CenterThe Boathouse is an existing facility owned by the City of Bay City and is located on the Middlegrounds. It is a world-class facility for rowing, and the Bay City Rowing Club (BCRC) and the City of Bay City are in the process of expanding its use to paddlers in kayaks and canoes.
In late 2015, the SBLC completed renovations to this O.U.R. Bay City site. We resurfaced an existing gravel apron leading to the dock as well as added a new kayak and canoe launch ramp, using a design tested and utilized on the Shiawassee River by the Friends of the Shiawassee River group. The launch is designed to be resilient against freeze and thaw cycles and provides safe access to the Saginaw River for canoeists and kayakers. The Rowing Club is located at 350 W. Lafayette Ave in Bay City on the Middglegrounds island. |
