​​The Au Gres Delta Nature Preserve is located in Arenac County near Au Gres. It is 97.5% composed of National Wetlands Inventory designated wetlands bordering on the west shore of the Saginaw Bay of Lake Huron and adjacent to the Au Gres River. The Au Gres Delta Nature Preserve is unimproved and underwent a large-scale Lakeplain Prairie restoration between 2012 and 2015. The preserve is a sanctuary for flora and fauna. Please be respectful of the sensitive species and delicate natural balance we are working to restore by leaving no trace of your visit.


The preserve is located in a seasonal floodplain and, depending on conditions and the time of year, the ground may be submerged and impassable. Venture in at your own discretion.


How to get to Au Gres Delta Nature Preserve:

The property can be accessed by turning south off US-23 onto Santiago Road, just west of Au Gres. Turn left onto Manor Road and park at the end where Manor Road meets Green Drive.

Recreational opportunities include birding, and wildlife observation.
