Born To Be Wild

2026 Conservation Career Development Program

With the Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy

We are pleased to announce the launch of our 2026 workforce development program, “Born To Be Wild.” The program will provide an opportunity for six participants to receive comprehensive training in essential conservation techniques, wildlife habitat management, non-profit management, project design, and critical field skills, including chainsaw safety, first aid, tree planting, and invasive species identification.

Participants will engage in meaningful work throughout the summer, building their resumes and earning wages over approximately 100-120 total hours. The program is a paid opportunity, with an hourly wage of $20. The position will involve outdoor work, and will be held every Monday from 8:30-4:30, beginning on June 15 and will conclude the week of August 17th. A tentative schedule is provided below (schedule subject to change). This schedule was designed to allow participants to remain employed on other summer jobs or take classes.

We are no longer accepting applications for the 2026 program. Stay tuned for future opportunities!
